This needle was specially developed for the use of metallic effect threads. It has a very long needle eye of 2 mm in relation to the needle size, which remains the same length in all needle sizes. 
 
The longer eye of the needle allows the metallic thread to slide particularly gently through the needle: thread breaks are optimally prevented.
